September has arrived with sunshine, and the hopes of an Indian summer are high! Let’s takes a look at some of the great events in Cardiff this month

There are some great events in and around Cardiff this September including world-class stand-up comedians such as Russell Howard, Frank Skinner and the joint show of Brydon, Mack and Mitchell. If live music is more up your street you are spoilt for choice with concerts from Hozier, Skunk Anansie, the Pixies and live tribute acts to Pearl Jam, George Michael and Robert Palmer.

Film & Comic Con 7th–8th Sept

Returning to the Motorpoint arena the weekend of the 7th-8th September is the Film and Comic-Con. Perfect for families, this event is fantastic for movie and TV buffs, with as much pop culture for children as there is for adults. With famous faces from all your favourite TV shows and movies including Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Red Dwarf, get your autograph book out ready for some star signatures! Speedway Grand Prix 21st Sept

Round 9 of the Speedway World Championships comes to the Principality Stadium on the 21st September. If you like your racing loud and in your face, Speedway is the place to be. With 15 permanent riders fighting to be World Champion over 10 rounds, taking place in 7 countries and with no brakes, get ready for a shot of adrenaline in Cardiff! The 2019 Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix promises a great family afternoon with the gates opening at 15.30 and the first heat at 17.04. Wales International UEFA 2020 Qualifier

International football returns to Cardiff for the UEFA 2020 Qualifier against Azerbaijan on the 6th September and the International Challenge Match v Belarus on the 9th September. Wales are looking to stop an alarming lack of form after two losses against Croatia and Hungary in June. Anything less than a win would all but guarantee their absence from the European Championships next June. But, with 21-year-old Dan James making an incredible start to his Man Utd career and Harry Wilson, 22, doing the same at Bournemouth, could they be the new heroes the Welsh team needs.
